If you’re using Avast Antivirus as a default antivirus for your computer, then you might have faced a situation, when you’re unable to install software, drivers, and other important applications. It’s not the problem with Avast Antivirus, but any antivirus program can put you into this situation. Usually, it happens when the antivirus program fails to recognize the program you’re installing. If you really think that the program you’re trying to install is safe and you have downloaded it from genuine source, then you can install the program by temporarily disabling the Avast Antivirus.
How to Disable Avast Antivirus Temporarily
For whatever reason you want to turn off avast antivirus, here’s how you can do that: Click on the Triangle icon available on the left side of Windows 10 Taskbar. This will launch the Notification area. Here, you need to right click on the Avast Antivirus icon. This will show you options related to security suite. Next, you need to select Avast shields control. You will find four different options which includes:
Disable for 10 minutesDisable for 1 hourDisable until computer is restartedDisable Permanently
Depending on your requirement, you can select any option. If you want to temporarily turn off Avast antivirus, then you can go with first three options. To disable Avast Antivirus permanently, you can select Disable Permanently option. After selecting a option, a quick dialog box will open up asking for your confirmation, Click Yes to continue.
